Okay. So. I don’t know how to start this except that everything about Sterling is absolutely different than the way I saw it. Interestingly enough, it’s been that way with all of my characters. I actually have future plans for something along those lines, but in this case, yeah, I really wanted a coach/player forbidden romance, and once I developed Kody, Hunter really started to come out, but his voice was a little bit hard to hear. Everyone who has read the Crane Family Series or Lucinio Family series knows that Matthew is definitely a bad dude. There are a lot of things he did that made him very much unlikeable and truly evil unredeemable. So, what happens when someone who is so very hated suddenly does something nice? When we thought up Dallas Cassidy, she had a WHOLE other story going on. Our plot for her was so different than how it all ended up. Honestly, I don’t know how Laura and I managed to go from one end of the spectrum to something so drastically different on the other end. I’d say it was because we were drunk, but we don’t drink. Oh My God… Josh Lucinio. He’s such an in depth character with sooo many layers. He’s dark and downright scary. His humor is as black as his soul. He’s by far, the most fun I’ve ever had with a character, but also the most heartbreaking and soul crushing. He’s had a long, torturously painful journey. I think Sloane is one of my personal favorite characters. I love how she turned out. Sloane is a very confident woman, but has been very beaten down over the years she was with Remy Remington, Brant’s father. She’s sunk into a depression and self-blame game that she feels she deserves. Read on to see how she climbed out of her dark hole.

When I wrote The Running Back’s Forbidden Temptation, I focused mainly on the physical, emotional, and verbal abuse that comes with domestic violence relationship. When I started writing Skyla for Fighting My Fate, I really wanted to dive into more, and Skyla was very much on the same page. Colton DeLise was a character I honestly never saw coming. The guy just dropped out of nowhere and became the perfect love interest for my cocky high school Quarterback. He also gave my story a plot that I hadn’t planned on and helped me write his story faster than I’ve written almost any other story I’ve written. Okay, so, I honestly wanted to write a dark bully romance. My intention was to have a group of friends who ruled their high school. They were all on the football team and all complete assholes. No one messed with them, not even the teachers. That was the plan. Unfortunately, my characters are complete jerks and decided totally against that.
