Sloane Collins

I think Sloane is one of my personal favorite characters. I love how she turned out. Sloane is a very confident woman, but has been very beaten down over the years she was with Remy Remington, Brant’s father. She’s sunk into a depression and self-blame game that she feels she deserves. Read on to see how she climbed out of her dark hole.

Sloane is a truly beautiful woman who truly thought she struck gold with Remy. He love-bombed her. The second he put that pretty ring on her finger and said “I do,” everything changed instantly. Suddenly, he and his brothers and friends tormented her, belittled her, and made her feel worthless. Her confidence hit an all time low, and it didn’t help that Brant hated her. With Remy’s control, Sloane had no one.

It took Brant to bring her out of it. To give her a glimmer of the strength she no longer had; a hand to hold when she couldn’t climb anymore. Brant showed her that she’s not only worth it, but also that she’s better than his father.

Throughout the book, I personally loved how much Sloane grew. Her confidence started coming back. I feel like readers are definitely able to see the struggle that comes after abusive relationships.

Tell me what you think! Did Sloane’s growth and her love with Brant give you the warm fuzzies?
