I was so excited to write Blade’s story. When I was thinking of Drake’s story, Blade came to mind so fast, it was like I was struck by a boulder. I needed their story in my life. I knew they both needed each other.

From the second Blade saw Drake, he knew something was different. Something in Blade changed, and while everything was forbidden, it just was. It was a plant that needed to grow. Something born out of tragedy.

I love writing stories born out of tragedy because I honestly believe that out of something bad, something good is born. What that is is always to be determined. It might take forever to show, but it’s there and needs to be nurtured.

Which is why writing Blade and Drake was so fun for me. They were born from unspeakable tragedy when Drake lost his parents and was nearly killed himself by an absolute madman. The love that came from that was epic and selfless.
