I actually saw Kody’s story going a bit differently than it did, but when I started writing this series, things kinda changed a bit. I wasn’t sure it would even work out for me to write what I wanted for Kody and Hunter, but it ended up working even better. Curious? Read on to learn more!

Originally, I planned on Kody not only being the youngest of the cousins, but also the more protective. That definitely changed. I also planned on him falling for his coach and having nothing come of it until later, but then I got this crazy idea of a one-night-stand between the two.

The issue with that was that there were like two years between when that would’ve happened and when their story took place. So, when I sat down to write it, it took me weeks to actually get the first few words out.

When I did, though, it suddenly all became clear. I knew exactly what I needed to do.

And that’s when the idea of Kody having some problems came into play. Drinking and having some very deep and dark thoughts. You all know I love bringing these real life issues to light, and I felt like Kody was the perfect person to help me with that.

One of the best love stories I think I’ve ever written is between Kody and Hunter just because of how real the two of them are. I love that so much about them
