When I first thought up Lila, she was meant to be a woman on the run from her abusive ex. She moves to Piper Falls because it’s the furthest away she can get from him. She even changed her name in order to do all she could to keep him away from her. But Lila didn’t end up like that at all. Read on to find out just how Lila’s story drastically changed taking me on a ride I was not prepared for.

Blake Falcon, like many of my characters, didn’t turn out exactly as I’d imagined. But I did my best with what I had to work with. When I first thought of his story, I’d intended on him being a firefighter in Colorado who meets the love of his life during complete chaos. A forest fire is bearing down on them, but so is her psychotic ex. That changed a lot. To find out how, read on!

When I first wrote Lance, I didn’t like him. I didn’t really know what it was about him, but I didn’t like him. He was a side character who did what he needed to do, and then he just quietly stayed in the background like a good boy. So when Damon started shouting about his book, suffice to say I was quite shocked at who his love interest was. Find out how Lance became one of my favorite characters by reading on!

When I first wrote Billion Dollar Love Story, I had no intention of writing other books. My intention was that I would write the one, see how people reacted to it, and move on. I figured people would hate the book and I’d have it out of my system. That isn’t what happened at all, and Damon went through one HUGE revitalization. Want to find out what it was? The first book I ever read on my own was Surprise, Surprise by Francine Pascal. It was the first book in the Sweet Valley Kids series, a series that revolves around Jessica and Elizabeth Wakefield, their family, and their friends.

Harleigh Harlow is definitely my rebel of this series. She has some self-confidence issues, but she’s still fiercely independent and lives by her own choices. She wanted to go to college, but she made the decision to help her father with his restaurant after he got sick. She wanted Gavin, but she made the decision to leave him before he could leave her. Gavin Vandenberg. Rich. Complete snob. Daddy owned his own company and gave Gavin a literal golden spoon to carry around with him. A pacifier made of diamonds. That’s how Gavin was originally supposed to be in my head. Read on to find out what went wrong with that idea!

Creating Raleigh was honestly one of the funnest things I’ve done. Mainly because she was one of the first new characters I planned to use. I was sooo excited for new. A new mind to dive into. When we first met Alex Lucinio in the Crane Family series, he was a young punk who had aspirations of his own and wanted out of the mafia more than anything in the world. He was cocky. Arrogant. And only thought of himself. But throughout the series, Alex grew up and went through an immense amount of strive that both changed him and made him the man he became.
