Lyric Lily Sharpe
Lyric is honestly one of my favorite characters because of how courageous she is. She deals with mental health issues, as does Mariah, but her backstory is so different and deals with other very real issues. Keep reading to learn more about Lyric!
Lyric Lily Sharpe is from the United Kingdom. She left her native land because she hated it. Her past haunted her daily. She couldn’t thrive because she was torn down at every single turn. She needed a new start somewhere away from there. Somewhere she loved and felt welcome. The United States of America.
The US offered Lyric everything she needed and so much more. A fresh start. A place to call home. Acceptance. Strength. But most of all? A chance to be herself and truly find everything she strived for. The opportunity to leave her past in the United Kingdom.
The reason I love Lyric so much is because she’s a survivor. She was bullied. Abused. Her abuse was far different than Mariah’s. She dealt with the emotional and mental aspects, but she also dealt with the physical. She was not only brought down emotionally; she was beat down physically.
Nothing can keep Lyric down. Despite her past, she finds her footing and thrives. I love her so much because she lives her life even though she has a demon in her head constantly bringing her down. She never lets her. She keeps fighting. She keeps standing tall. Lyric is amazing in every sense of the word.
Even though Lyric is submissive, she isn’t weak. I feel like a lot of people view submissive women as weak women. That’s so far from the truth, it makes me laugh. Hysterically. Until I can’t breathe. Submissive women are far from weak. Are some? Maybe. But Lyric definitely isn’t.
Lyric is also pretty hard for me to write because of how submissive she is. She’s based on the love of my life. It’s unfamiliar territory to me because, while I definitely am submissive, I am not on the level Lyric is. But I love exploring that part of her and writing it because I love showing her diversity to the world. I love showing people that it’s okay to be yourself. There’s nothing wrong with you for being who you are.
