Fenn and Aryan Deimos

I tend to have very vivid dreams. The kind of dreams that when you wake up, you question if you’re still in the dream or if you’re back to reality. Or if the dream itself was reality. Aryan and Fenn, much like most of my characters and stories, came to me in a dream. When I woke up, I was silent for much of the day. So silent, in fact, that Laura asked me if I was okay… numerous times. Finally, I told her the dream. And low and behold, Aryan’s Alpha was born. Want to learn more about Aryan and Fenn? Read on!

Aryan’s Alpha, ironically, came before Connor’s Legacy. I had absolutely no idea what I was going to do with it after it was written. I didn’t know if I was going to publish it, keep it, release it as a bonus book for my newsletter subscribers, or just forget about it completely.

Of course, it didn’t work out that way. Like many of my characters, Aryan and Fenn wouldn’t shut up. I couldn’t concentrate on anything else. So I wrote Aryan’s Alpha… in like a week. Yeah, it came that fast. Once I started, I couldn’t stop.

But let’s back up and talk about the dream that inspired it, shall we? In the dream, I was in an abusive relationship and fled with nothing but the clothes on my back after I killed the abuser. Dramatic beginning… I know! At some point, I passed out from exhaustion. When I woke up, I was in a cave, or what I would later come to find out was a den. I should have been shivering. Freezing cold. But I wasn’t. Wrapped around me was a wolf. Jet black and beautiful. He was keeping me warm. And I was in his den.

How many of you would freak out if you were in a Wolf’s Den surrounded by wolves with a huge black one wrapped around you? (I raise my hand). Yep. I freaked out. Screaming. Panicking. All of it. The black wolf started talking soothingly to me and telling me it would be okay. None of them would hurt me.

He did soothe me. His voice was deep and melodic. But I wasn’t ready to accept the words he was telling me. You know, things like we were fated mates and all of that. I ran. It was raining. The river was high. I slipped and rolled down the muddy bank right into the water. The river was rushing and not only carried me away, but pulled me under.

Of course, I thought I was dead. I could hear the wolf telling me to hold on. That he was coming for me. He and his pack saved me. They pulled me out of the river. Warmed me up.

There were some intimate moments that had me questioning my sanity when I woke up from the dream. And that was why it took me so long to say anything about the dream. But when I did, Laura said she thought it would make a good book. I didn’t. Who would read that?

But then the book kept writing itself in my head. Aryan and Fenn started screaming at me to write it until I couldn’t ignore them anymore. Things changed, of course, in their book, but the underlying fated mates love story remained. Yes, they are Wolf and Human, but it’s their souls that are in love.

Souls don’t care if you are an ant and a grasshopper, or a dog and deer. They recognize each other. Search for each other. Aryan’s and Fenn’s hearts belong to each other and no one else.

I tried to do their love story justice because I know how taboo it is. Not a lot of people like to read about a Wolf and Human pairing, but Aryan and Fenn were having none of it. They wanted their story, and that was the end of it. I tried to give Fenn very human qualities. Like head nods and looks. Glares.

When I got to the end of their story, Connor and Belle were supposed to be side characters in a standalone book. As you all know, that didn’t happen. Connor and Belle ended up with their own book, and the Deimos Trilogy was born.

P.S. Kade’s Redemption was never supposed to be part of a series. It was always meant to be a standalone Paranormal Shifter Romance. It was actually Laura who helped me connect it all. I’m telling ya’ll… The girl is far more than just a pretty face. She’s smart and connects things that I don’t have a prayer of doing. If you’d like to know the secret behind literally all of my books and why they are woven together so seamlessly, well, the secret is my girl.

I hope you liked reading about Aryan and Fenn. While their story is far from traditional, they help to set up what is going to be a legendary and far more traditional Paranormal Shifter Romance. Without Connor, Belle, Fenn, and Aryan… Alpha Kade Deimos, the most powerful Shifter the world has ever seen, would not exist.
