Lila Mancini
When I first thought up Lila, she was meant to be a woman on the run from her abusive ex. She moves to Piper Falls because it’s the furthest away she can get from him. She even changed her name in order to do all she could to keep him away from her. But Lila didn’t end up like that at all. Read on to find out just how Lila’s story drastically changed taking me on a ride I was not prepared for.
Lila Mancini is Piper Falls’ Princess. Ever since she opened her mouth to sing, the entire town fell in love with her. They knew she was going to make something of herself and they couldn’t wait to cheer her on. Especially Blake Falcon, Lila’s older brother’s best friend. The man she was totally in love with since before she even knew what love was.
That’s the Lila we all know, but that’s not who she was supposed to be. She changed as the other authors in the multi-author series that Ignite My Fire is a part of evolved. Her entire backstory became no more, and I suddenly found myself writing a story I hadn’t prepared for.
Ironically, it’s one of my favorite stories I’ve ever written. I’ve always wanted to write an angsty, best friends-to-lovers, best friend’s little sister type of book. I not only got to do that, but I also got to do another thing that I’m passionate about and wanted to try a little bit.
Lila is an up and coming superstar. All of the songs she sings on stage are written by me. It was super fun to be able to delve back into my very old roots of songwriting, and I loved living out my fantasy of being on stage through her.
All in all, though she didn’t turn out the way she started, Lila ended up the perfect heroine in this book, and I’m super proud of her.
