Dani Jade

My intention while writing Dani Jade is to write her like the women I’d already done. Sort of like a damsel in distress who had very strong qualities about her. Much like every character I wrote before her. But, much like her sexy as sin love interest, Nick West, Dani wasn’t having any of that. Find out how Dani became the kick ass woman she is!

Dani refused to let me allow to right her as anything other than an independent kick ass woman who is so far different than any of the women I’ve ever written. And I couldn’t be more proud to show her off.

Where the other women I wrote were happy to step back and let their men protect them, Dani has always protected herself. She’s had to. She’s always been alone. Even in foster care after her mother was killed and her father disappeared, she took care of herself.

She’s never needed anyone. And furthermore, she’s never wanted anyone. Sure she’s wanted an family. She’s wanted a love to call her own. But she’s never found anyone that she’s wanted to share any of those experiences with. And she was okay with that.

She was happy with her life and how she’d managed to make her own living and make her own way. Even when life threw insanity at her, she still wanted to feel like she could protect herself. So, unlike the other women in the family except Arianna, Dani wanted to learn how to fight. Not just protect herself. But how to truly fight off any attackers.

But what’s more is that she wanted to be there for her new family. She wanted to feel like she could protect and fight for them just as much as herself.

In the end, Nick needed someone who could keep up with him and be able to bring him down. Dani is that woman. She’s just as fierce and independent as she is soft and submissive.

Dani is one of my favorite characters. I loved writing her. I hope you all love her as much as I do. Tell me. Who is your favorite female Crane Family character?
