Breetana Carter
Breetana Carter is the fierce Executive Assistant of Chase Shaw, CEO of Shaw Enterprises. She’s smart. She’s able to handle everything Chase throws her way. She takes on responsibilities that aren’t in her job description while Chase does whatever he wants… and any girl he wants. Breetana is used to throwing women out of the office that haven’t had enough of the billionaire. But who is Breetana really? Read on to find out where Breetana came from, and how she became a main character in The Crane Family Series.
As you all know, Be Mine really wasn’t a book I intended on writing. Billion Dollar Love Story was going to be a one and done sort of deal. The problem is I’m so in love with writing that I couldn’t end it. That being said, I hadn’t intended on writing a series. The series came to fruition during this book. Bringing Ryan in and tying it all together was so fun for me.
Breetana Carter and Chase Shaw were meant to be a forbidden office romance. Totally in love with each other, but unable to really do anything about it. What would a playboy billionaire CEO ever see in a girl from such a small town in Minnesota?
Truthfully, Breetana was based on me. And Chase was my fantasy. I’d been reading a lot of office romances about that time and decided I wanted to write my own. Some of them just seemed so… far-fetched. The heroine was weak and annoying. I hated them all.
So I set out to create a heroine that didn’t annoy me. Someone real. Someone with real issues. Someone that people could relate to. Someone as beautiful on the inside as she is on the outside. I didn’t want Breetana, or any of characters, to be or look like the type of woman that the media says a woman needs to be or look like. And since writing has always been my own little outlet, I thought maybe throwing a little of me in there might be nice.
I love Breetana. I love how she doesn’t let Chase walk all over her. I love how she stands up to him and how she’s the only one, other than his mother and Taylor, that he allows to. I wanted Breetana to be a good compliment to Chase. While Chase may be a little on the wild, irresponsible side, Breetana is down to Earth and keeps him on track.
I wanted her to be organized. Because she needs to be in order to run Chase’s life. I wanted Breetana to come off as his equal. Not just some girl who was attractive. Not just a woman that he’d take to bed. I wanted Breetana to come off as someone who could be Chase’s partner in life as well as his company.
What do you think of Breetana? Do you love her as much as I do?
